Pamela Fernandez is a Honduran multimedia artist, cinematographer, and media consultant based in Barcelona, Spain. Over the last eight years, she has worked as a freelance photographer and multimedia producer in Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA, Miami, FL, Madrid, Spain and in Latin America. She received a Master of Fine Arts with a focus on Installation Art, and New Media from George Washington University, she also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Media and Film from American University. She’s earned several scholarships and awards including the ENDESA Cultural Patrimony Fellowship for Iberoamerica which led her to Museo Nacional del Prado as Multimedia Fellow.
Through mixed media installations, photography, and video, Fernandez examines how memories are formed, evolve, and later degrade over time on an individual and broader collective level. Her work often questions what we know and understand as history and what our memories of contemporary historical events are.
